Back Kryoneri Beach

Back Kryoneri is a short distance from the main beach of Parga. However, many do not know it because it cannot be seen from the town. It is just behind the hill on the left of the main beach of the city. Continuing on the one way street that passes over the beach, shortly after its end, you will find a supermarket next to it. At that point you follow the right direction and meet the Achilleas Hotel. Passing through the hotel (or somewhere further), you arrive at the beach Back Kryoneri. Indeed it is very beautiful over there. The bar is formed in two levels. The first one is in the shade of trees but also has a covered piece. Going up a few more steps, you find yourself on the second level where though you are exposed to the sun (or the stars) you have an even better view of the beach and the back of the hill that separates it from the city, with the big rocks sown in the sea. Go downhill again to the beach from the bar's stairs for a closer visit. Arriving there, the beach seems very beautiful from that place too, with the two hills right and left, the houses behind it, the sea with the beautiful colors in front of it and the scattered rocky islets. The water is cool and somewhat cooler than other beaches (for this it seems that it is called "Kryoneri"). Also the seabed has many fish of various sizes and a few little ones come and pinch your feet if you stand still in the sand for a long time. Do not imagine any great tweaks. Mainly it is the surprise when you feel them snapping your calves. The beach is really wonderful. It has a fairly large piece of sand and pebbles that is extended until where you do not bottom anymore. Afterwards, the bottom has some stones for a few meters and then it is sandy again. These happen from the middle of the beach to the right. As you go right, the more sand you will find. On the left side the thick stones replace the sand in the first few meters. For someone who wants to spend 4-5 days without traveling, Parga and especially Back Kryoneri is one of the best destinations in the Ionian Sea.
